Therapy for the moments when life stops making sense.
About Me

For 25 years, I sat beside people at some of their most vulnerable. As a dental hygienist, I had people in my chair who were terrified, who hadn't come in for years because of the fear, who gripped the armrests and tried to breathe through it. What I learned, over and over, was that what people need most isn't a perfect plan. It's someone who won't flinch when they show you what they're carrying.

That's what I bring to therapy now. The same steadiness, the same attention to what's happening beneath the surface, and the same belief that you can feel safe even when the thing in front of you is hard.

I work with teens, adults, couples, and seniors through the parts of life that don't come with instructions. Trauma and PTSD. Relationship ruptures and emotional disconnection. Sex and intimacy. Grief and loss. Anxiety, depression, and the particular kind of exhaustion that comes from caring for someone else before yourself. I also specialize in dental anxiety and other phobias, not from a textbook, but from two and a half decades of understanding exactly what that fear feels like from the inside.

Wherever you are, whatever you're carrying, you don't have to sort it out alone.

I Work With

Couples navigating:

  • Emotional distance and disconnection

  • Sex and intimacy, including desire discrepancies and communication barriers

  • Conflict, communication breakdowns, and recurring patterns

  • Rebuilding trust and deepening emotional connection

  • Infidelity and relationship ruptures

Individuals working through:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Anxiety, depression, and mood disorders

  • Grief and loss (people, relationships, identity)

  • Dental anxiety and other phobias

  • Caregiver burnout and the cost of always being the one who holds it together

  • Seniors navigating aging, life transitions, and loss

  • Feeling stuck in life, work, or a version of yourself you've outgrown

  • ADHD and menopause in adult women

How I Work

I draw from PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy), ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), CBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, somatic approaches, and attachment-focused work. In plain language: I pay close attention to what's happening in your body and your relationships, not just your thoughts, because that's often where the real story lives.

I work from a holistic lens, which means I'm paying attention to all of you: your mental, physical, and social self. We'll look honestly at what's worked for you in the past, what hasn't, and what's actually within your control right now. That process, knowing what to hold and what to let go, is often where the confidence starts to come back.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and paced by you. We'll build insight, develop practical tools, and work toward the kind of change that actually holds.

My Path Here

I spent 25 years as a dental hygienist before training as a therapist, and those years shaped everything about how I work. I sat close to people's fear, their avoidance, their relief when something hard turned out to be okay. I learned how to create safety quickly, how to read what someone wasn't saying, and how much it matters to feel genuinely seen in a room with someone.

That experience also gave me something most therapists don't have: a real, firsthand understanding of dental anxiety. I know the fear isn't about the dentist. I know what it's like to dread something so much you stop going altogether. That's a space I can meet people in with real credibility, not just clinical training.

From there, the pull toward deeper work, toward relationships, trauma, and the emotional undercurrents of people's lives, led me to psychology. I'm now a Registered Provisional Psychologist, and the work I do every day is the natural continuation of what I started in that dental chair: helping people feel safe enough to let something shift.

Outside the Office

Originally from the Maritimes, I've called Calgary home for the past 26 years. When I'm not in the office, you'll find me hiking, paddle boarding, or somewhere on a road trip with my dogs. The outdoors resets me. So do the dogs. People who work with me say I bring a lot of warmth into the room, and that probably starts there.
